Shaheed Shahbaz Bhatti's 55th Birthday Celebrated with a Call to Continue His Mission


On 09-09-2024, Monday, the 55th birthday of Shaheed Shahbaz Bhatti was celebrated. The Minority Alliance Pakistan, along with all its central leadership and various social and religious organizations in Lahore, organized a major program at Youhanabad Marriage Hall in collaboration with their leaders. The event was organized by Karamat Gul, President of the Punjab Minority Alliance Pakistan.

Central leaders such as Akmal Bhatti, Vice Chairman, provincial presidents from all four provinces, and members of the Central Committee of the Minority Alliance Pakistan participated in the event. Shahbaz Bhatti made numerous sacrifices for his community, securing a 5% job quota for minorities, amending Article 59 to secure four seats in the Senate, declaring 11th August as Minority Day, and many other services. It is said that nations who honour their martyrs and pay tribute to them are the ones that remain alive in history.



In recognition of Shaheed Shahbaz Bhatti’s sacrifices, his efforts for the unity and dignified identity of the Christian community were honoured by his followers and successors. The Minority Alliance Pakistan, along with all its leadership, paid tribute to him and vowed not to let his hard work go in vain. They committed to continuing his mission, addressing issues such as the misuse of laws like 295-C and 295-B (blasphemy laws), forced marriages, and religious conversions. They also advocated for electoral reforms and the elimination of poverty and illiteracy within their community through various programs.
