Pilgrims’ Experience
The annual pilgrimage to Mariamabad, located about 80 kilometers from Lahore, is one of the most important religious events for Pakistan’s Catholic community. Pilgrims from across the country and beyond gather to pay homage to the Virgin Mary, offer prayers, and seek blessings. The event draws over a million participants annually, with this year expected to see an even higher turnout.
In addition to spiritual activities, pilgrims will have access to first aid, safe food provisions, and other essential services provided by government departments and volunteer teams. Rescue teams will also be on standby to handle any medical emergencies or unforeseen incidents.
The security arrangements and administrative efforts reflect the government’s commitment to ensuring a smooth, peaceful, and successful celebration of the Marian Shrine event.
